purchase question? Whats a fair price?
Hey there, I am new so don't be too brutal on me!
Have someone who contacted me about purchasing two vehicles. First one is a 69 chevy carryall, the second is a 56 chevy pick up. Both are one owner cars, minimul rust, everything is intact. Been setting about 10 years in the desert. I am originaly a Ford man, (don't throw me under the bus yet!) but just recently sold all my ford pickups and want a couple of projects which will probably be my last ones due to my failing health. Can someone give me a ball park idea what a max price would be for both. Thanks ahead of time! Dennis in Calif |

1969 carry all all depends on options.Power brakes power steering AC rear AC.The one that most people ask about from the 3 door suburbans How much cancer. If the roof has any cancer might be a little more then most want to tackle Rocker panels Floor panels Quarter panels Wheel well panels. Here in Calif if its on None opt if any back fee;s are owed.It all depends on condition

I've been on this site for a short few months and many of the members will get on you for not posting any pics. Pics speak volume, and will allow for additional and pertinent input you are seeking.

Re: purchase question? Whats a fair price?
One thing to watch out for is sellers on the dry side west coast (Cali, AZ, NM, NV) selling desert rigs at a higher price. They are usually cancer free, but have surface rust, and faded original paint. Surface rust and faded paint is refered to as "patina". The patina fad is all the rage right now, and cats are lining up to pay top dollar for rigs that aren't even worth half the asking price.
Just something to be aware of. Gary

Re: purchase question? Whats a fair price?
Thanks for the replies!
Carryall has the patina, everything is there , was running when parked 6 years ago. The 56 chevy pick up has the same, both are one owners. All glass in tact, the truck was parked with a tired engine about 14 years ago. Very minimul body damage on both vehicles. Made the executor a bid of 300 on the carryall and 500 on the truck. We will see how "ready to sell" they are. Now I have to go count the change in my piggy bank, LOL Thanks again! Dennis in Calif |

Re: purchase question? Whats a fair price?
I think you might be a little low on the bids. If the executor knows anything, he can get more from having them hauled off to the junkyard and getting paid by the pound.

Re: purchase question? Whats a fair price?
I would say 1000-1500 on the burb if its in overall good condition but not running. Only that low because its an estate sale. Would probably pay close to 2000.00 if bought from private party.

Re: purchase question? Whats a fair price?
wow, if you do get them for your bids they are desperate. Without seeing them, with no rust through or serious rust I'd say 3000 each easy. Of course Im from the rust belt so rustfree to me is a rarity.
