1950 GMC Brake Pedal Help
I could really use some advise on how to mount a TCI brake pedal on our 1950 GMC. Purchased pedal assembly and the directions say to remove existing brake pedal & master cylinder and re-mount the TCI unit to the OEM frame mount. I looked at this many times and cannot determine how this can be done, none of the bolt holes line up???
Has anyone experienced this problem? If so, what is the cure and what am I missing? Thanks!!! |

Re: 1950 GMC Brake Pedal Help
No experience here but when I look at mine and look at a TCI pic of one, it looks like it would mount. Where the oe master sits and the pedal curves upward through the floor. Mabey a wrong kit? Post pics of what you have and what kit you purchased.

Re: 1950 GMC Brake Pedal Help
Thanks New Fisher. I will try to get picture out. I did see some pictures on another post here. It looks like the person made a 1/4" steel mount that bolted to the frame in the same place as the original and then the TCI mount bolted to that.
Appreciate your reply! |

Re: 1950 GMC Brake Pedal Help
This a TCI brake set up in a '51 suburban, we removed the stock M/C and bracket and installed the new bracket that came with the new M/C and booster..
Make sure you have the right M/C and booster for the right year truck.. the first one is for a '52 and the last two pictures show one for a '56 truck.. on the '56 you use the stock bracket and on the '52 you use a bolt in bracket taking out the stock one..
