88 GMC Driver / Project
Well I guess it's time to start a build thread for my 88 GMC
Basically I bought the truck a couple years ago with no engine or trans, pulled the engine and trans out of my 89 parts truck, got a new windshield and started driving it Since then I have swapped the bed for a better one, and bought a new set of tires and put them on some factory round body mags A while back I had it sitting in from punt of my shop overnight while I was driving my car, the next day I showed up to my truck being shot up by 12ga shotgun slugs I had planned on swapping out the cab for the one off my 89, but I got a wild hair and decided that I could do better than that, so I started hacking on it today and this is where I have made it to, enjoy some pics if you will Posted via Mobile Device |

DUDE THAT IS AWESOME!!!!
never seen that before. very creative and good way to fix the original damage on the truck. when people see it going down the road they're gonna have to do a double take! subcribed for sure.....

Re: 88 GMC Driver / Project
Yeah, especially once I put the caddi tail lights in the bed, it will be hard to tell for sure what it is cruising from behind

Re: 88 GMC Driver / Project
you ought to mold in 67-72 tailgate lettering in the tailgate to really mess with some heads

Re: 88 GMC Driver / Project
you could put 69-72 c10 front and rear side markers on it to add to the retro look.

Re: 88 GMC Driver / Project
Lol, I'm good I like 67s better and they don't have side markers
I've had quite a few thoughts of how I could make it look older, but in the end there is no point since I own three 67s, if I wanted something to look like one I could just drive one Posted via Mobile Device |

Re: 88 GMC Driver / Project
When I get some extra money to dump into it, I plan to put a roll pan on it and some caddi tail lights I have

Re: 88 GMC Driver / Project
Well it's getting close to being back on the road, I dont have time or money to finish painting it right now and the bottom of the graft is a lil too far out so there is a line I can't hide, but if I ever get tired of that I can cut a strip out and weld in a flat piece to fixe it

Re: 88 GMC Driver / Project
Got the bed on yesterday, today I installed the tail lights, bolted the bed down, and pulled the plastic bed liner out

Re: 88 GMC Driver / Project
Here's an update for yall
Welded in a roll pan, flipped the rear axle welded in a C-notch, made a new shock x-member and added a rear sway bar |

Re: 88 GMC Driver / Project
Before
After It now has all the same rims as the rear has and it settled out a lil more and sits about 1-2 inches lower in the rear than the front |
