No exhaust manifold gaskets when removed? do they need milled?

Removed for the 1st time my 87's manifolds restored them now ready to put them back on there were no gaskets when I removed them. Should I take them to a machine shop and have them milled incase they're warped any? or do they usually not leak when put back on?

thanks

I'd use a steel ruler or other straight edge to check
run it flush across them all
not sure if you would benefit from running small grinding wheels inside to clean up casting marks etc
fine sand paper the mating surfaces

buy the gaskets and put them on, they should have them. I restored mine and used gasket from kit and I have no leaks.

when you removed yours are you saying they had gaskets or no? maybe mine have been off before but I really don't think they have.

They never had gaskets originally but it's standard procedure to put gaskets in once they've been removed the first time. I wouldn't worry about having them planed. They don't usually warp appreciably enough to cause sealing issues when used with gaskets.

My '86 called for copper RTV for the gaskets. Checked when I was trying to fix exhaust leaks.

I'm kinda like duct tape- no real purpose, but handy to have around.
