Stock paint job Red kind of plain looking
Folks I really want to keep the paint on my swb stock looking .. right now its simply red.
I have added side chrome moldings but they don't hold up very well water gets under the plastic coating covering the chromed molding and ruins it. I was just thinking of changing the color and want to try and avoid the chrome molding any suggestions .. |

Any pics? I am partial to red, but what kinda chrome moldings did you add? The factory type hold up well. I always avoid color changes on cars, unless you are going to strip it all the way down and paint all interior color. The other suggestion is to 2 tone it with a red matching color, so it would look right. |

I'm not a fan of two tones.
You need to seal the end of the chrome moldings to keep water from wicking up in there. LMC sells a pen that you can use, or I used clear nailpolish. Seems to be holding up ok and it's going on four years now. K

Re: Stock paint job Red kind of plain looking
There must have been a hundred different colors available over the years because everyone likes something different, so it's a completely personal thing...do what makes you happy. As for me, I think you're nuts; there's nothing better than a solid red! But, like I said, that's just me...
