Talking OOOPS!! Maybe lowered the front too much!

So, today i took my lower a arm loose on my 86 c10 and got my coil out and took 3/4 of a coil out of it, looks about how i want it. But now i have another dilemma, there is like a little step up right beside the bump stop on the lower a arm, it doesnt appear to be for anything? Has anyone else ran into this problem and is it safe to modify it by eliminating it all together? Thanks guys!

Are you talking about the bumpstop/steering stop bracket?

I ususally trim off the bumpstop part and leave just enough steering stop to contact the spindle.
Some people remove them completely.

Like I said,... some remove it all together.
But I like keeping the steering stop.
