Its FINALLY sunny and warm in Oregon! I'm declaring today the first boating day on the lake here. Haven't had much to do on the Burb lately, but restoring a matching 70 Glastron has been keeping me busy. We finally had some sun and warmth here and took it out to the lake today. 90 horsepower in a 15 foot boat is kinda fun. Let's see the boats and old trucks!

how does the hot 250 pull the boat? I know the boat is pretty light.

Pulling a boat, what boat? Hehehe. My favorite is single lane hwy comming to a passing lane and I repectfully stay in my own lane at 60 ( 5 mph over ) and the guy behind tries to pass on the inside of the OLD TRUCK...fail

Its not a 400hp LS motor, but the inline 6 has great torque and gets the job done.

Sorry, no photos of an old truck pulling an old boat.

I DO have a photo of a newer truck pulling a newer boat though. It's got a little more than 90hp. Both the truck and the boat!

You are a big inspiration to my going with the six! I am about ready to dig my 250 out of the corner so I can start on the motor mounts. That will be after my wife's back surgery next week.

I love this engine combo. After the 216 and the used 250 I was skeptical, especially when building a 350 or a used LS would have been 1/3 the money. If the inline parts were cheaper I think a lot more of them would be used. I can leave the hood up next to a show truck and people just walk past the truck to look at the 6. I also get tons of conversation from guys pulling into park next to me when they ask what V8 I installed. I want to build a frame laying bagged barn find and I am for sure going with a 250 or 292. Its not that I don't like the V8s, everything else we have is 8, my wifes tahoe and my crew are both LS, I just have more fun with the inliner

I noticed the same thing here at cruse nites the few inliners get a lot of attention. I always like to have something different I always have. Maybe that explains the BUELL I have a couple other sixes I could use A 248 and a 270 GMC but I think the 250 is the best choice. I will do most of the build myself that will help with the cost. I plan on doing the lump port mod on my buddy's Bridgeport mill. oops I am hijacking the thread again

That testimony is the #1 reason I want to stay with a 6 cylinder!!

You just have to bore, mill, cam, ignite and shove some air and fuel in them with a 6=8 clifford and a 4bbl. They come alive and are a totally different engine than a stocker.

Awesome id love to see that lol. Heres my 85 with my new boat lol. 350/4l80e/4.11s. Boat is a 2008 25' pontoon with a mercruiser inboard outboard 3.0 4 cyl. Went to the lake today actually!

I am familiar with the Avion camper, but yes, this has more 'fins' and 'whistles'.

It is a 1965 Ford chassis.

I believe a guy on the Sidewinder forum mentioned that these boats were in a few movies. I gutted the interior of it last summer and will be putting in new carpet and seats as soon as spring decides to show up
