Automatic Trans steering column questions
I'm restoring the steering column (auto trans column) in my '64, and I have a few questions for the experts:
My gear pointer had almost no paint left on it, so I matched up the light green and repainted it. There is a recessed area in the center. Did the factory pointer have an orange line in the center in this recessed area? I didn't see a trace of any other color besides green on my pointer. Does anybody reproduce the "boot" for the 60-66 automatic columns? This boot is the rubber cover that fits over the connection where the handle meets the column. I have one from a '68, and it's pretty close, but it doesn't want to stay tight to the column and doesn't look correct. Alex
