I took out the saginaw 4 speed (car tranny) when I put the b.b th400 combo in. The question is can i change the slip yoke off of the 75 chevy suburban on to my stock drive line so it will mate to the back of the th400. Also will i need to shorten my front drive line(lwb 2-p.c. shaft). Thank's in advance. Looking to be on the road by august.... maybe..

As far as I remember, the TH 400 yoke was sized to match the standard drive shafts. It MAY take a special u-joint with two sizes of caps, but I can't remember.

Does anybody know if there is a special u-joint for this drive line, or should i just have a new drive line made?????

I would measure everything up before doing anything.

A special u-joint used to be available, but I am not sure if they still are. I would suggest taking the yoke and one of your u-joints into the local NAPA if you want to go that route.

My experience on the newer TH 400 yokes has been that they are longer than the TH 350, so you may have to cut the drive shaft.

If you have to cut the drive shaft anyway, you may want to get the matching u-joint flange and have it welded to the front of your drive shaft.

Another option is to obtain a complete driveshaft out of a truck that had the TH 400 in it.
