Power steering rebuild
Hey guys the PS on my 66 needs rebuilt or replaced. Aerotruck told me that Corvette and ?? Used the same unit.
Any shops, preferably in Virginia area that can rebuild one of these? It doesn't have to be Virginia. Posted via Mobile Device

Re: Power steering rebuild
Yes the power steering assist that came on these trucks was used on the Corvette's thru the late 70's
I would check prices on the kit and the labor to rebuild the original PS valve. It seems to me that a couple of the truck parts suppliers sell rebuilt steering valves. You might check into those as well. You might be better off converting to the '68-'87 integral power steering box. I'm not just trying to sell another adapter plate

Re: Power steering rebuild
The original slave systems are very simple to repair using a Corvette 63-82 repair kit. These systems are very easy to rebuild yourself with simple hand tools. I rebuilt mine several years ago in a couple of hours and I have been happy with it ever since.
