C20 rear wheel bearing HELP!

I have a HO52 in the rear of my 71 c20. The wheel bearings went out on the driver side, so I did brakes, and fluid change while I was at it. The problem is that when I pulled the drivers side apart, all of the bearings fell out, and now I can't figure out how I'm going to get the outer race out. I have the big C clip out, and I was able to get the race started in the right direction using a small punch through the axle bolt holes, but now that its to the bottom of those holes, i'm not sure how to proceed. There isn't enough room to get a punch on the top lip of the race. Any Ideas? Anyone heard of welding a bead on a race to shrink it up? My buddies dad suggested that, but I'm not sure.

Welding a bead in a race works good for removal.
