Thumbs down come on LMC!!

I made a big order from LMC for my new 67'. was super excited to work on it all weekend. the order was for 14 different items. came home to a big box on the front porch today after work just in time for the weekend. opened it up..... those morons only sent me 5 items out of 14 and 2 of them were wrong!! i looked to see if there was another package coming and there isnt. i have ordered a lot of stuff off the internet and i have gotten a few messed up orders here and there but this tops them all. looks like the only thing i can install is new visors.

is there another website like LMC that people on here trust? or is LMC kind of the main place to get replacement body parts? thanks

I prefer Brotherstrucks.com. They have good quality parts, good service, and their prices are fair.

Re: come on LMC!!

I have had pretty good luck with LMC... they have never messed up an order that bad but some of the parts can be pretty bad quality. Check your email they sent you also and make sure they didn't mark them "backorder" and you thought they were coming!

I have used the following with great results...

Brothers Trucks
Early Classic Enterprises
GMCPauls
Summit Racing
Classic Parts of America

Re: come on LMC!!

Classicparts usually has the best prices and I never had a problem with them. (and I bought ALOT over the years!) They ship fast too.

I make it my one stop shop and avoid all the issues.

...and if your visors fit as well as my '66 ones from LMC, you'll have fun trying to make them fit right. Presently, the unhappiest part of my resto--soon to be corrected!

Re: come on LMC!!

I would go with Wes/a board vendor first.

then I would go with Classic Parts, I have used them for 23 years and never had a problem.

Re: come on LMC!!

Here is a prime example of LMC parts. I spent over 2 grand on parts for my 83 c10, bumpers, dash pad, all trims, weather striping, all turn signals and lights and the list goes on. I started putting the new trim on for the new grill and all 4 pieces were bent, one had no clips to install at all and one had been bent and straitened back out. The grill was was bent from the top and welded on. The front bumper has a huge scratch down the front and the new LED brake lights directions were completely wrong. I still have not unpacked the rest of it but will be today. I can't wait to see what else I find.

Re: come on LMC!!

Not to push anyones buttons or hurt feelings but seriously why are you guys still ordering from LMC???? There are probably a few hundred bad reviews on this forum alone. There are tons of board vendors here who treat everyone great and have very few bad reviews. The only thing LMC is good for is the very detailed diagrams in their catalog.

Re: come on LMC!!

I am not satisfied with the quality of some of the parts I have received from LMC, FAR from original fit, finish, quality.

VERY WELL SAID! Only as a last resort and when you don't really need it and can plan on it not working or fitting. I've done well in the past with GMC Paul also.

If you want the cheap stuff, you'll get exactly what you pay for from LMC. I bought a hood that looked like it was the finished product of a 3rd grade metal shop class. Bummer!!!

Re: come on LMC!!

Sorry some have had bad voodoo from their experience as you have stated. I have had nothing but good response from LMC on any issues. I have met the owner and the management staff several times while in the store and they have always taken great strides to correct any issue I may have. Even when it was my fault I ordered the wrong part or miscued on the line. Calling the order in several times and the order desks caught my mistake and stopped me to be sure the part was right and for the right year. All aftermarket suppliers face the same issues with fit and finish. I have used Goodmark and had to tweak the fit. Sometimes it was my trucks instead of the part that was out of line. After all most of my builds are nearly as old as I am. I have been bent, tweaked and mis-aligned quite often over the past 50 years. I only wish my work was perfect - I see my flaws more than others do because I own them first.
