Re: Dually Spare Tire ?
You only need a spare front: you can still drive with a flat rear.

Re: Dually Spare Tire ?
The Front and Rear Wheels are the same. You just spin them around for the Outside Rears. You could find a spare wheel at a junkyard or possibly buy a new one. Some of the new ones aren't US Made though.

Re: Dually Spare Tire ?
Most guys don't carry a spare. If you have a flat in front just rob one off the rear to get you home.

Re: Dually Spare Tire ?
I always had a spare for my 1-Ton, but I kept it in the garage.
Anytime I took a long trip though, I would carry it with me. Bill

Re: Dually Spare Tire ?
I never could borrow one off the back, always ran maxed out on weight, wouldn't have made it 2 miles on 3 tires. Don't try running a flat on the rear either, seen a few burst into flames a few times, you can burn down a big truck that way.

Re: Dually Spare Tire ?
Yeah, can't run on a rear flat, even with the other still good. The difference in GVW on a single wheel 1t and a dual wheel are minimal. If you can't run home on a single you're hauling too much in the first place and should park and deal with the inconvenience. I guess when I set out to haul a load that big I toss a spare on somewhere. My '71 tow truck has never had a place to carry a spare and my utility bed truck never carried one.
