72 c20 project
Well let me start by saying this truck was an old friend when I was a teenager now 15 years later I'm trying to bring it back to life.
My problem at the moment is the gas tank was corroded with rust so I changed the tank, fuel sender, fuel pump, and fuel filters but now it doesn't want to get gas to the carb. There's nothing wrong with the motor its a SB 350 4 bolt main with only 30000 miles. At the moment this is my only problem , if I pour gas in the carb it'll crank for a split second but that's it any ideas would be great Posted via Mobile Device |

Check your fuel line.

Well I blew out the fuel line today from the tank to the pump before I installed the line on the fuel pump plus I blew out the line from the pump to the carb.
I have an inline filter at the tank im gonna check tomorrow, the biggest thing is everything's new so I'm not sure y it wants to clogg up now. For many years it ran great on rusty gas Posted via Mobile Device |

What kind of carb? Some have fuel filters in the inlet. Are you sure you have the fuel pump push rod engaged with the fuel pump lever? It can be difficult to hold the push rod up and get the pump jammed into position before the push rod falls down.

I have the Rochester quadrajet and yes it took a minute but yea the pushrod is in the right place

Your Q-Jet will have a filter at the inlet. I would check that, as well as the pump rod as Randy suggested.
Just saw you checked the rod. I am guessing there is a lot of junk built up at the inlet.

Yea the 1" filter in the carb is completely cleaned but I'll check the pushrod as well

Well fellas I found out when I put the pump in it was in wrong so it bent my pushrod so now I gotta get a new one then hopefully I'll have some gas flowing

There's a little bolt on the front of the block. You take that out and screw a longer bolt in to hold your pushrod in place while you change your fuel pump. Then when you're done you put the short bolt back in.
