69 chevy 4x4 4spd headers?
so I have a 69 chevy 4x4 with a 4spd and im looking to get some headers for it...most of the research ive done shows that some alteration to the clutch z bar is gonna be needed...does anyone have any input on headers that fit without too much alteration?
a little info on the engine, its pretty much stock 1.72 in/1.50 ex, mild cam i think its GVL .447 intake lift, 210 intake @ .050 duration. just have an edelbrock intake and HEI pics would be helpful? thanx |

Re: 69 chevy 4x4 4spd headers?
Heddman makes a set that require no mod to clutch linkage. Personally, Corvette 2 1/2" manifolds my preference. Speedway has some in garage sale right now for $39 each. Looks like C3 Corvette headers might work but I haven't actually tried a set. But I modified some with an O2 sensor for a buddy years ago and they are really really similar.

Re: 69 chevy 4x4 4spd headers?
Mine has heddmen headers on it and the fit real well, I would spend the money and get some that are coated rather then just painted.

Re: 69 chevy 4x4 4spd headers?
What part number did you come up with for the Hedman's? We have a 69 Chevy K10 with a sbc and a 4spd as well. I'd prefer not to cut anything up to put them in.
Thanks! |

Re: 69 chevy 4x4 4spd headers?
if you go to hedman.com i believe the number is 69230...these are the non ceramic coated headers tho...they go for about 160-180$ on summitracing.com im still deciding on whether to go with the ceramic coating or just paint them myself with some high temp paint?

^^^
header wrap and rust. Keeps the temps down. I can actually lay my hands on the headers but the plugs will burn your fingers. |
