Looks good. I have the same setup but have a chrome bumper not a roll pan. If the ball mount is a little loose in the receiver hitch you might want to put a small shim inbetween them to tighten them up. Had a friend with a lifted Chevy and he had a big drop ball mount. When we went to tow a trailer for the first time it was all over the road at 40mph. The trailer was loaded right and the ball height was correct. the ball mount was too loose and it was exagerated by the lenght of the drop. Put some shims in and it stopped.
Just some info in case. I like your truck!

I personally do not like rollpans on 4x4 trucks, but that is pretty slick...like the blue dots, too

Thanks guys, I'm more of a fan of rollpans being on 2wd trucks but I picked up this rollpan cheap and said, what the hell, let's see how it turns out.
I'm leaving town on Monday for a week, going camping. When I get back, I'll post pics of my travel trailer hooked up to the 67. Thanks again guys, I'm glad it turned out half as good as it did.

just for your info, the 2x2 tube that slides into the receiver is solid steel. That drop hitch feels like it weighs about 50lbs.

I like it. I am thinking of doing the same although I am doing it to hide the gap my body lift made. Are those hitches custom made? Or does someone make them?

Alf, you should be able to buy a hidden hitch to fit behind a rollpan on your 78 Blazer or 97 GMC. Nobody makes one to fit a 67-72 that I am aware of. I had mine custom made by a guy that does all my metal work. Early Classic Enterprises makes one that will go behind the license plate on the stock rear bumper for the 67-72.

Pont,
Is that a 10" drop? Where did you get it? Ive got an 8" and my trailer is still at a higher angle than I want.

alf, a hidden hitch can still work with a bodylift depending on how much bodylift you have. If you have a 2" body lift, it will just place the receiver 2"s lower on the roll pan. A 3" bodylift might run you out of room on a rollpan. In that case, you might have to have someone modify the receiver to sit higher in the frame.
6869704x4, it's a 12" drop and I had it made. VTKidder, here the fullsize pic of my avatar. Thanks for the kind words on my truck, it still needs a ton of work.

Did you buy the hidden hitch and then modify it? Or did you just fabricate from scratch?

Hey Mudder, come on out! I'm ready to go camping again.
Thanks Yukon, how's your truck coming along? Are you done with the 454 swap?

Pont, I'm in the middle of body work right now, sanding in prep for painting. 454 is ready to fire, sitting in the frame.
