Rear Mount Gas Tank/relocation HELP!!
I know this has been covered a thousand times, so bear with me. I have a 66 fleetside long bed. I saw under new parts in lmc's catalog part number 32-5929 top fill gas tank kit 17gal. Anyone have any experience with this. they claim it eliminates some of the modification?

Being from LMC there's a pretty good chance it MIGHT fit. Sorry not a fan of all their cheap imitaion parts anymore.

Re: Rear Mount Gas Tank/relocation HELP!!
It depends on your motivation and if you have a decent shop and all, but we just got done putting a 31 gallon stock 72ish blzer fuel tank under my father in law's 57 stepside shortbed, lowered and c-notched. IMHO, for what the "kits" cost, you can do it yourself so much cheaper. Of course it helps when you have 2 guys working on it who don't mind cutting things up or changing things (we moved the shocks in front of the axle for him and made a K member for them, removed a crossmember, etc.) All in all, for like $150 including brand new tank and sending unit and some metal, 31 gallons? Yes please.

Re: Rear Mount Gas Tank/relocation HELP!!
I don"t mind that its only a 17 gal. tank I just want something that is plug and play so to speak. I am not interested in cutting cross sill, or the bed strips. I was hoping this kit maybe was an easier install. Thanks for the replies.
