DJM WRONG BALL JOINT Question - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network

Bought A set of upper and lower A arms off a buddy on the cheap.

Upper: P/N CA2355U, CA2356U, CA2455U 1963-1987 CHEVY C10

Lower: CA2356L-3 They have a 3" drop.

I'm 99% done installing ECE's 4/6 drop kit, except when I put their spindle on I started threading the castel nut......and threading it.....and threading it.
WAY past the hole for my cotter pin.

So, can I buy any brand ball joint for my specific make/model/year for direct replacement? or does it have to be DJM specific?

The Ball joints changed thru those years.The taper inside the spindle and the one outside the ball joint need to match.Sounds like you have the larger diameter spindle and smaller dia Ball Joint.ECE should be able to tell you what Ball joints work with their spindles.

Called ECE, turns out I need a joint from 63-70. Easy fix, waiting for them in the mail!
