long to short bed cost
Does anybody know how much I can expect it to cost it have a long bed fleet side cut down to a short bed? Just the bed not the frame.

Re: long to short bed cost
Why not just buy a original shortbed for the truck? There's someone out there that needs a good longbed, and if you cut it then it's gone. IMO it'd be cheaper to buy a shortbed than put all the money into cutting? But still shortbed all the way!

Re: long to short bed cost
I have a short bed step side right now and I was thinking of turning it into a fleet side. I have not come across a fleet side short bed but plenty of long bed's.

Re: long to short bed cost
Shortbeds are rare and finding one will be next to impossible so cutting down a longbed makes sense. Call a few body shops and ask or find a decent welder that can cut it down and then have a body shop finish it later. That way you can be on the road until you can have it finished. Or you can buy a welder and practice on it. Good thing about metal is anything can be fixed if you screw it up too bad. lol

Re: long to short bed cost
The bed of a 60-66 is wicked easy to cut down. I like them long, but a short is easy to do and if you can't do it yourself, I would think it would be cheap to pay someone.

Re: long to short bed cost
I have two short fleets and one long bed. The two shorts are beat up a bit and the long it nice. Have not been able to seel the long bed and it is nice. Was thinking about cutting down for my truck, but then I could just get patch panels for the short beds. I need both short beds because I have two short fleet trucks. At leas I can cut and weld and even do some body work.
