Spindle ID?
I bought my truck with the 5 lug conversion already done on it so now that I want to put a set of drop spindles in how can I tell if they used the 71-72 front spindles or the 73-up spindles?
I'm new to these so maybe they can't use the 73-up on the older front ends? Sorry if this seems like a stupid question... MOD

Re: Spindle ID?
Do you have any pics of the front suspension?

Re: Spindle ID?
It appears the original 67-70 crossmember is still in the truck.
The a-arms are pre-73 because they still have the steel cross shaft bushings. No adapter sleeve on the tie rods. Still hard to say. You need to know what upper ball joint or outer tie rod fits these spindles. That will tell you what you have. (71-72 and 73-87 take the same lower ball joint) Both 71-72 and 73-87 take the same 11/16" diameter tie rods. Pre '71 tie rods are 5/8" diameter. So maybe all the steering was swapped also. Hope this helps.
