orifice tube
So my condenser had a big crack in it and I replaced it. While I was at it I replaced all the seals. Hooked everything back up and now it wont hold the vacuum. Could a bad orifice tube be what is causing it to not hold its vacuum?

Not uncommon,
If I recall way back when I did A/C work, we replaced them quite often for similar reasons.. I'll see if I have any of my old info around..

Orifice tube cannot cause a vacuum leak as it is completely inside the high side tubing - none of it is exposed to the outside.

You have a leak somewhere.
As its is already been said, the orfice tube is enclosed in the tubing, it can't cause a leak. Start with checking the fittings you took loose. Check all the orings, and make sure the fittings are tight. Past that you may have to get some nitrogen pressure on it and start looking for leaks with soap bubbles. |
