Drop Leaf springs Question
I got some 4 inch lowering leaf springs from Brothers truck parts, installed them and my truck doesn't seem like it was lowered any. it still looks like stock height. What am I doing wrong or what do I still need to do to have it lowered? I have never worked with leaf spring trucks so I am a total newbe when it comes to this. Any help is greatly appreciated.
Thank you |

Re: Drop Leaf springs Question
Not sure if Brothers has stock height replacement springs or not. Maybe they sent you the wrong set?
I ordered 4" lowering leaf springs from Early Classic Enterprise and got about 4 1/2" lower. Rides great and still has a lot of load capacity. Edit: Forgot I was in the Suspension Section and not 60 -66 Section. My leafs are for a '66 GMC. Last edited by newbe351; 06-06-2013 at 11:21 AM. |

Re: Drop Leaf springs Question
Did you compare the set that came out with the ones going in?

Re: Drop Leaf springs Question
It is a 1970 Chevy short bed fleet side. It said 4 inch drop springs on the box so I'm assuming they sent the right ones.

Re: Drop Leaf springs Question
I bet your original springs had at least 2" of sag.
4" drop is compared to the ride height of brand new stock height springs,... not 40 year old springs. ECE sells a 2" shackle if you need to drop it more.
