Attached antenna

I was removing the old, circa mid 90's, in dash c/d player from my 1972 truck today and the antenna lead wouldn't pull out of the unit. It was attched to the c/d player as I found out when I used pliers to get it out and pooched the antenna lead. Has anyone ever had a c/d player that came with the antenna lead attached? Another thing I discovered is that there isn't a lot a room under the dash of a 1972 Chevy. Does the metal box the C/D sits in just pull out of the hole as I don't see any screws or bolts holding it in.

Re: Attached antenna

Ive never seen an antenna lead be continual from the head unit all the way to the antenna, did you check further down the line from the head unit for a place they separate?

Thanks for the response. I thought it might seperate half way down the line too but I'll have to pull the glove box cardboard to follow the cable to the antenna base.
