Cpp has one for $360. http://www.classicperform.com/Store/...k/6569RACK.htm Cant I just buy new 5 lug axle shafts for my make/ model axle and buy the disc conversion kit? axles http://www.summitracing.com/parts/ms...del/c10-pickup Rear brake kit http://www.summitracing.com/parts/wil-140-10094 Or is there something Im missing? Thanks for the help guys.

Re: 5 Lug conversion kits.
Not sure I understand.
You are comparing the CPP drum brake kit to axles and a Wilwood conversion. Sure you can do either one. And there are other alternatives to rear discs than Wilwood. Just trying to understand.

I mean using the CPP axles and the wilwood brake kit, rather than the discs that the CPP kit comes with. OR The Moser axle shafts and the Wilwood brake kit. Are the CPP 5 Lug Conversion kits (the first link; changes the axle shaft from 6 lug to 5 lug and the according drums) special? This still sounds confusing doesnt it.

Re: 5 Lug conversion kits.
I would definitely buy Moser axles and whatever brake kit you choose.
Moser has been in the Axle business for a LONG long time. Quality.

Another option with rear drums is to find a square body C10 with the larger 11-5/32"x2-3/4" rear brake drums for a little better braking and much more common replacement parts. Get the whole backing plate & drum assembly off of it. In addition to a square body these can also come off a G10 or G20 van. I went this route and it cost me less than $25. Mine came from a 92 G20 van. I cheated a little and have leaf spring rear suspension so I am using a square body rear axle in mine that I had left over from another project. I was able to just pick up a set of common 5-lug C10 axles and the brake drums to match and swapped out the 6-lug axles & drums that came on my 4x4 sourced rear axle. Square body trucks use the same rear end housing for both 2wd and 4x4 so it doubles the gene pool for donor axles when you need parts. I assume a trailing arm 12-bolt will have the same axle flange to backing plate mount distance as a square body leaf spring 12-bolt. I will find out for sure when I rework the rear brakes on my stepside.
