Motor mount bolt loose.
Beat on my truck pretty good today lol. Run good till I got home and just started shaking bad, checked everything and found my passenger side motor mount bolt(long) almost came out and my engine seems to be leaning to one side. what would cause it to come out and do u have to take fuel pump off to tighten it up (seems a bit tight in there). Would this bolt being loose make engine lean to one side? My passenger side full length header is hitting fuel lines , so thats how I know its got a lean to it( it didn't do it before).
Thanks for any info. |

Re: Motor mount bolt loose.
IMO it was probably missing the nut on the back and eventually worked its way out. If the bolt was not completely through the motor mount then it would lean to the side. As far as putting it back in and tightening it up, it's easier to do without the fuel pump but it's not too bad to work around it. I usually reach under to grab the bolt and them use an extension to reach it from the front.

Re: Motor mount bolt loose.
Sometimes the motor mount rubber separates from the steel; not a bad idea to check.
I like to use thread locker liquid on many important fasteners. |

Re: Motor mount bolt loose.
Nut just barely stayed on and bolt was still in a hole, but why would it have a lean? Mounts are about 2 months old so rubber is good.
