There are a couple of members here that have those on their trucks. When all cleaned up they look pretty cool in my opinion. Right up there with the mag wheels.

I had a set of Turbines that I got with the '72 GMC a few years ago. I just pressure washed them & bead blasted them and they looked great....

I had 2 of those on the rear axle of the '71 I owned in the 80's. Meant to pick up 2 more for the front, but never seemed to have enough money. Dangit dude, them things are UGLY!

They are nice rims and they will clean up good but finding tires for 16.5s is very much like nailing jello to a tree these days.

Re: cool 8lug 16.5 wheels// craigs

On the subject of vintage wheels,,,,, were the 8 lug aluminum slots made in 16" or were they only 16.5 ?

Does anyone currently make the slots in 16 " ?

Thank You !

Tom

16.5" I had a set and got rid of them. Would have been great if mine was 4X4. But since the tire selection on 16.5 is so limited for street tires....I prefer the 16"

Good looking wheels... I'd buy I set if I could find some close to me. They look good on the trucks.

Re: cool 8lug 16.5 wheels// craigs

Firestone makes a good tire for those 8.25" wheels. They sell Firestone everywhere,so not hard to find. Traditional 8-lug custom wheels were never made in 16" because only stock narrow width 16s were made back then and all oversize wheels were 16.5. There is no choice when it comes to the coolest wheels ever made for these trucks. It's 16.5s or flavor of the week 16s...and hula hoop sizes
