My 72 c20 350 started idling rough
For the last 2 months(since I had the timing and carb dialed in for me) , my 72 c20 350 has been running like a dream. Before that, it was idling funny and it wasn't able to pass smog. The mechanic i took it to said the timing and carb were off and adjusted them. Yesterday I was on my way home and the truck died on the road. It took me awhile, but I got it started. It was idling weird and there was a lot of black smoke coming out. I got it back on the road and drove it home. At first it was running rough but it started running good. Now when I start it doesn't sound right. I've checked for vacuum leaks(the best I could). I also changed the fuel filter and shot the carb with some cleaner. Since I bought the truck I've put on a new Edelbrok 600cfm w/ electronic choke, new fuel pump, fuel filter, new gas tank and sending unit. I'm hoping someone can help point me in the right direction. Thanks

Re: My 72 c20 350 started idling rough
I think the black smoke happend because I may have flooded it while I was trying to get it started. There isn't anymore black smoke coming from the exhaust. The fuel pump is a $22 mechanical fuel pump I got from AutoZone. It's the second one I put on. I had sediment in the old gas tank and I think it was tearing up the pumps.
