Help with bed cross sills?
Working on short Stepside bed for my 58. I bought all new bed parts from Dynacorn. I only have one of the original bed cross sills. How many are needed for a Shortbed ? Are they all different? Any help is appreciated

Re: Help with bed cross sills?
Looking at an old LMC catalog, it looks like there are three (3) cross sills for a shortbed and they are all the same. There is a forth sill called the rear cross sill and it is different. I think this catalog is online and you could take a look see. Clay

Re: Help with bed cross sills?
Classic lists a cross sill that fits over the axle. Other catalogs don't mention it. ??

Re: Help with bed cross sills?
Dimensionally they are all the same but the front sill has two captive nuts on each side for the running board bracket to bolt to. Could be fabbed but easier to get the right one.

Re: Help with bed cross sills?
This picture is taking from classic trucks web site. There are three cross braces on short bed, the last brace toward the back is only one different look at the ends. Hope this helps

Re: Help with bed cross sills?
Ok, I think thats the one over the rear end. There is one more that goes at the rear that attaches the bed sides. So 4 in all I think.
