Re: Calling all low buck builds
I have started a low buck build, we call her "Corina Patina" after finishing my 66 GMC I found out that the real cost of a build was the body work and paint. The mechanical is not that expensive (or does not have to be) but the going has been slow. Here is a link to the pictures we have taken so far,
cost of the truck $700.00, air ride parts 400.00 bridge kit 125.00 87 front crossmem 200.00 with steering gear box cragar wheels 36.00 tires 400.00 labor for bridge welding 100.00 bag brackets 100.00============2061.00 to date planned additional items: pancake the front crossmember--------200.00 nv3500 transmission 500.00 bed wood 65.00 re use bed strips misc 1000.00 =====$3826.00 not including labor......................hope it works..... http://kieth.smugmug.com/Trucks/65-C...9096&k=rK3ktPL |

Re: Calling all low buck builds
Our '65 Daily Driver project is low budget. it's called the "parts truck" not because we will use it to chase customer parts, but because it is put together with left over pieces laying around here.
Engine/computer: 1991 TBI 305 V 8 Bought car for $1500, drove for 3 years parted out. Trans: 1982 TH 350C traded a set of 16.5 X 8 wheels for it Steering column, brake booster: from 1994 Suburban-bought as parts for $400- sold engine for $300, body for $200, front clip for $200, interior for $300. EFI wiring harness: painless perf. Customer ordered and pre-paid- never picked up Power steering box- left over from wrecked 1969 C30 Total CASH investment so far: $375 out of pocket. Traded about $400 worth of labor for the truck minus eng/trans. |
