Matt's 65 short fleet one car garage build
Hey guys,
Long time lurker here. 1965 c10 swb fleet. Purchased truck on good ole Craig's list last September, truck came mostly complete minus the 454 bbc I opted out of. I was recently married and wife thought since the past 3 years most of my savings were spent on preparing for the wedding that i could finally dive back into working on cars. Lack of tools and space have been a challenge. Looking over the builds on here have been very motivating. I've been working on this truck in my one car garage in my current rent house. Luckily, I've got a good size storage shed in the back yard to store hood, front fenders, bedsides, tailgate ect.. For those of you that are in the same limited space situation understand making working room along with storing tools is a project in its own. I'm fairly green to restoration and fabrication I've bagged a previous silverado and restored a 65 mustang for my first car but other than that not much experience . Any input or suggestions are greatly appreciated. Thanks, Matt Posted via Mobile Device |

Nice truck. I've tons of stuff in a single car garage years back. A bit cramped but its a garage to work in.

I too know the woes of doing this sort of stuff in a single wide garage....
Looks like you have a good start, and a set plan! Good Luck to you and to the board

Nothin wrong with being green at this, we all have been there. Its amazing how much we learn through our builds! Looks like a good start and plan. What are the motor plans?

Re: Matt's 65 short fleet one car garage build
Hello! first off id like to say welcome to this addiction we all share. Looks like a good project! I too can relate to the small one car garage build and utilizing every square inch between the truck parts tools ect. looking at your project makes remember how far my project has come. If you look at my thread my beginning pages look almost exactly like yours lol. Lots of cool people here and great ideas don't be afraid to share any cool ideas you may have....we all share mod ideas here! Also just some friendly advise for you I have learned during my build. Working on these trucks is an addiction and you can get a little carried away...don't forget about the other important things in life like your wife and family. Good luck with your build man!

Re: Matt's 65 short fleet one car garage build
Hey guys I appreciate all the the positive responses to my post.
A lot of the tear down pictures were taken almost a year ago. By now the empty looking garage isn't so empty anymore. To this point I've stripped the truck down to the bare frame and built a so called "frame rotisserie" to be able to roll the bare frame in and out of the garage giving me more work space. Ive Had the frame and suspension parts sandblasted. I figure starting from the bottom frame up is the best plan of action in my case.. Posted via Mobile Device |

Re: Matt's 65 short fleet one car garage build
I check the parts thread at least twice a day and finally came across a guy with a complete front suspension. I lucked out! Complete crossmember included 2.5"drop spindles, disc brakes, 3" cpp drop coils, brand new lower A-arms, all new Moog ball joints tie rod ends, even threw in power steering set up. Best parts about the whole deal, all suspension parts were powder coated and the guy lived less than 10minutes from me.
P.s. any tips on being able to post more than one pic per reply? Posted via Mobile Device |

As far as posting pics.... When I'm mobile with my iphone I can only post one pic. From a PC go to manage attachments below where your typing your message select 5 pics one at a time and upload. You can use the gallery here on the board and link them to your post or use an off site pic host and link them from there. Using the later two you can type between pics describing the pic. There may be other ways, but that's all I know.
