Blue's Repair Thread...Finally!
As some of you know a while back I forgot one of my dads biggest lessons when he was teaching me to drive. I swerved to miss a dog and found a street light instead. I have finally started the teardown so I can repair Blue.

Re: Blue's Repair Thread...Finally!
Thanks, I've known this truck too long to let him die. I just want to get it done before the original owner passes

Re: Blue's Repair Thread...Finally!
Some more pics, as you can see the frame will require a little massaging.

Well I didn't get the bed pulled off, We're having beautiful weather here...not. I just propped a hood over the motor to keep it dry.

You're gonna have it done for the September meet-up, right? I love your hi tech hood elevation and placement tools. Good luck with the repairs.

Re: Blue's Repair Thread...Finally!
Yep, the goal is to have it there in Sept. Those are high tech hood leveling tools The gun stock is actually a rattlesnake flipper (didn't want to shoot Blue) so I flipped him to his dispatch location and dispatched him..

Re: Blue's Repair Thread...Finally!
Not to much to report, but did some measurements and found the rear diff was sitting cockeyed. I found both the leaf spring center bolts were broken. I have done a bunch of these but these were by far the worst. They were broken in several spots and rusted in the springs. I had to drill each chunk out and clean each leafs center hole and reassemble the springs. But now the diff is sitting square! whew more updates later...

Re: Blue's Repair Thread...Finally!
Dale. I don't know what parts you need still. The surround I have is "ok" and if you need it, it's yours. I have fenders and core support for sale $100 each but if you need them I will give you both fenders and core support for $150. Can't wait to see the old girl back on the road. Oh and I have a front bumper with a couple dents I can donate if you need it as well.

Re: Blue's Repair Thread...Finally!
Grill and front bumper would be great. I don't need perfect cause Blue is 4x4 and does some bush crashing when I go to the claims. I'll PM you later and we'll figure out a time to pick 'em up and get them out of your way.. You are coming to the get together in Sept. aren't you. I'm trying to get Blue together for that. Thanks!

Re: Blue's Repair Thread...Finally!
Hey Dale, here are some pics of the surround and bumper. Like I said, they arent perfect but they arent the worst.
Heres the Bumper. I sold the lights a week or so ago so they arent in there. Im sure you have some laying around though! The pictures make the bumper look bend in places its not. The close up I took is the only real dent in it.

Re: Blue's Repair Thread...Finally!
There has been some progress but nothing worth noting. Still waiting for my turn on the frame rack (paying customers come first). I've gathered a lot of parts but still lookin' for a trans case because when the frame moved it broke the case because transfer case bolted to the frame. Also spending a lot of time at my cabin getting ready for winter...

Re: Blue's Repair Thread...Finally!
I know it's been a while but after many hours trying to fix the frame we finally decided it would never be right. So started the search for a new frame. Yesterday I picked up a rolling chassis (I'll post pics later). The frame needs some clean up but this will get me started again.
