Suspension sag

Ok so I bought my truck already lowered which I'm thinking may have been a mistake. My passenger side front tire rubs the wheel well on almost every bump but my driver side never rubs. So I investigated real quick and snapped two pictures. The passenger side bump stop is buckled. What do you think caused this. My truck is dropped 5.5/7

Re: Suspension sag

Does your truck have drop spindles?
Pull the rubber snubber and remove the mount.
This will give you added travel.
If it's too low, replace the coil springs.

No mistake that can't be fixed,...

Re: Suspension sag

As far as I know it's spindles and drop springs. But if I take out the rubber won't that make the wheel rub more?

Re: Suspension sag

Sure.
Front wheel/tire size has to work with your drop,... or you're going to have to raise it up.
It's like a big puzzle.
All the pieces have to work together.

Otherwise you can ride on the bumpstops and have a crappy ride that all the "incorrectly dropped" truck owners,... complain about.

Re: Suspension sag

Then you will need a shorter tire, removed inner fenders, or taller coil springs.

Re: Suspension sag

So shorter tire and you suggest removing the bump stop all together? I really don't want to raise the front. I like the stance it has

Re: Suspension sag

Shorter tire and remove the bump stop. You can always install a set of those stubby bump stops as well.

Re: Suspension sag

Take me a picture of the back side of the spindles and I will tell you if they're dropped or not. I need to see the arm where the tie rod bolts to.

Re: Suspension sag

That's a good looking truck. Are those the stubby bump stops? How much drop do you have in the back?

Re: Suspension sag

I have a 215/70 on a 7" rim.
You can run a 205/75 on a 6" rim.

Re: Suspension sag

I run 215/75 on the front. Discount Tire has them cheap and they are whitewall if you want to match the rears. I got a pair out the door for 126 dollars.

Re: Suspension sag

You've probably got a set of crappy springs in there. One likely more crappy than the other.

Don't get beat down though. You've got expensive drop spindles. Worst case you buy new springs. They're much cheaper than spindles.

Re: Suspension sag

MOOG rebuild parts.
Summit Racing 3" drop springs.

Rear has ECE 6" drop springs, rear shock relocators, and Super Track Bar.
I also added 1.5" lowering blocks.
