Floor Shifter TH350

My 82 Sierra has a TH350 trans with the shifter on the column. I wanting to get a big, tall floor shifter put in my truck.

So, far I've found this one. It suppose to be a total of about 3 feet long.
http://www.summitracing.com/parts/lo...make/chevrolet

Does anyone know of any other really tall shifters made by other brands, that are around the same price or cheaper? Just wanting to look at any options that are available.

Thanks guys.

Why a long shifter? Move the whole thing up on a box.

That thing looks pretty cool! I wonder how hard it would be to fab something like that up?
And I wonder if it would work with my 4 speed auto...

The link above is setup to a 700R4. If start in down in 1st gear, you can slap the shifter to jump up to the next gear all the way to OD. It has a reverse lockout so you don't accidently shift into Reverse.

Re: Floor Shifter TH350

Thanks guys for the replies, looks like I'll probably end up going with the "Radical 32 inch" Lokar I linked to start with.

And, the reason I'm wanting a super tall shifter is because I like how they look, and I'm going for an overall menacing look with some rat rod type styling with my truck.

Mine came with my trans. I run my original linkage tandem with the lokar linkage to keep my reverse lights and gear indicator

I think if I ran one I'd go with the real tall one as well like eveyone else has said, Do you have any pictures of how yours is set up to run the original linkage in unison with the Lokar?

Has no one ever found these cheaper? Or a slightly cheaper alternative?

Is your lokar shifter mounted on the floorpan, or on the trans itself ? I know lokar makes both styles. How do you like it ? I have been thinking about getting one for my 72 C-10.

Mines mounted to the trans. I like being able to feel the engine through the steering wheel and shifter. Of coarse this means you have to have a hole in the floor. I used a hurst super boot with a made in America plaque over the hurst insignia. The ones you get on your edelbrock intakes now. I gotta say if neutral was locked out along with reverse or even made it ratchet I think it would be quite the shifter to have

Thanks for your reply....I think the trans mount is the way to go also, but was wondering how much clearance there is between the trans (mines a TH 350) & the floorpan. My truck is totaly apart for a resto. , so cutting a hole in the pan is not a big issue. (72 C-10 350 engine)

I like yours, but you really can't beat an original Shiftier, out of a 73 GMC

73 GMC

79 GMC High Sierra Jimmy Full Sized

See this is why you should never buy an automatic then change your mind LOL, my tittle says Automatic Transmission for the 79...oops 4 Speed Manual with Granny Low.
