1970 C10 LWB stepside body off restoration
Hello everyone,
Looks like I have found the right place. I am restoring a 70 C10 LWB stepside. Can anyone tell me if this is a rare find or not, its hard to find any pics for the LWB stepside. I have started the restoration already and I'm to a rolling chassis finally. I have pics to post I just need to read up on how to do that here. |

You sure don't see many of the long wheel base stepsides.

Quote:
I drove my '67 C20 without a bed and two of us set the stepside bed on my truck. I brought 4 new bolts with me and plugged in the wiring harness. I was surprised to see stop and turn signals worked. The bed I removed from my '67 was a Fleetside rust bucket. The stepside bed has a side mounted spare. Wood was gone but strips are good. I'm painting the bed completely disassembled. That requires cutting two welds next to the tailgate hinges. My C20 tires are larger so I'll be modifying the cutout for the spare. |

Re: 1970 C10 LWB stepside body off restoration
I talked to a guy that had a long bed stepside. He saw me at Walmart in Kenner La. in my 68 C20 and told me about his stepside he was working on. Wouldn't have been you would it.

Re: 1970 C10 LWB stepside body off restoration
There was a thread back a while ago where a member found a source for grilles that looked excellent. I believe in the $400 range. Might do a search and see if you can locate. Also, as suggested try the other vendors here on the site.
