My old Blazer went to heaven
I sold my 87 Blazer last year to a kid I know, we had nothing but problems getting it smogged and with the rear axle blowing up, finally got it all fixed and this morning on his way to work rolled it. He had his seat belt on and wasn't hurt, unfortunately but the Blazer is a goner!
Now, I wonder how much of a pain it would be to put a 700R4 in my 69, hmmm? Posted via Mobile Device

Re: My old Blazer went to heaven
That should have read "unfortunately the Blazer is a goner".

Re: My old Blazer went to heaven
It sure is! I bought it almost new and took the family on a lot of adventures in the sucker. I washed almost every other day and knew every square inch of it. I can only hope the steel isn't melted down and turned into a Ford!

Re: My old Blazer went to heaven
There's the downside of selling a vehicle loaded with memories to a kid. Hate to see that. Hope you can save some of it.

I may get the 700r4 out of it if its not broken, if I do I'll rebuild it and put it in my 69. The engine still runs but it's fairly tired. Not much else I want out of it. Posted via Mobile Device

Re: My old Blazer went to heaven
Or you could flip it back on it's wheels, cut the cab off, find a windshield frame from a 73-75 weld it in. Weld in a tube cage for $700. Get a softopper for $900 and keep going! Maybe some new doors, hood and some new skins for the quarters.
Or, that's what I'd do.... |
