will 84 rear slider fit in a 78?
The search isn,t working but need to know if the rear slider from a 84 will fit in my 78,if so how easy is it to take out.He junking the truck this weekend,all he wants is the drivetrain so I have to hurry,anything else I should grab that will fit a 78,dash etc.I already got the 2 doors which are electric.

Pretty sure they are interchangable, but I think as far as removing it you have to cut all the way around the seal. Maybe someone else will chime in. Thats what i have read on here before.....

It will fit,put a 79 in an 87 two years ago,no problem.Don't cut the seal if at all possible,you can reuse it if it's in good shape. Mine was anyway,used a small flat blade screwdriver to get the seal opened up & then it almost just peels out.Getting it out is easy,going back a bit more challenging.There was a thread on here about using a rope to get the seal in& it looked pretty easy.good luck!

I pulled a rear slider out with a car key (with out cutting the weatherstripping) in about 10 min.

If you use the rope trick make sure to use plenty of lube on the rubber parts!
