Re: Very Cool EBay Truck! Not mine

I have a hard time believing that. Engine bay looks pretty rough for 24K miles. Also paint worn through on driver door and sill after only 24K miles?

Re: Very Cool EBay Truck! Not mine

Rubber pad on brake pedal is also worn clear through to metal. It would take a lot more than 24K miles to do that.

Nice truck, lots of serious modifications done...not sure about the mileage claim due to the wear showing and such, but nice truck none-the-less...

I wish they have a good sale.

Re: Very Cool EBay Truck! Not mine

This is one truck I'd be tempted to pay too much for,if $15,000 is too much for perfectly captured patina on a great survivor body with the most classic GM Truck color ever in a slightly worn after 41 year year unrestored, not overdone, understated style, and still great simple truck you can drive anywhere, including all your favorite shows and get loads of thumbs ups. I love it! I wish I could buy it for less, but the flood of newbies into these trucks has driven them all up too high. I would have paid in the $6k range for that truck before the work was done on it this guy did. Oops! He said the steering wheel is from a Cheyenne. I change my mind.

I have talked back and forth with the owner this week, and the truck just sold for his asking price! Guess stuff is worth whatever someone will pay

Re: Very Cool EBay Truck! Not mine

I agree about questioning the Cheyenne super steering wheel, I've never seen a super with that wheel.

Plus if it is a 24,000+ mile truck why has so much been done to it and replaced?

And that much money for such a plain jane truck? I better re-evaluate what I'm asking for my fixed up shortbed, with a lot of stuff on it.

Sold for the asking price? Good for him! That was a lot for a horizontally challenged truck.
Never saw much use for short beds. Then again, I actually use mine to haul stuff.

Re: Very Cool EBay Truck! Not mine

I wish I could figure it out, why such a vehicle with a bunch of over the counter bolt on items, on a so vanilla plain a vehicle will end up commanding such a price.

But a truck that has been built up to be a very nice driver with ps, pb, factory a/c nice engine/tranny, good paint job, all the typical issues corrected etc. will get tire kickers all the time. But no reasonable offers. And the payoff doesn't even get close for all the time, effort and money spent on it.

Anyone have an idea?

Is it the so called untouched truck (WHAT) this thing has had a bunch done to it, and it just bolt on stuff.

Please enlighten me!!!!

Well I think all these trucks are valuable, But I believe that the original paint/ patina market is through the rough, I love all trucks, I personally have come to love the original trucks, anyone can duplicate paint, but it's the original trucks that can't be copied no matter how hard someone trys. I believe the price was extremely fair.. 100% rust free truck. If things had to be replaced its because it sit for years. My 67 brought very close to same money with no tubular parts and not nearly the truck or documentation..
