quadrajet rebuild and edelbrock carb, reasoning???
I have a quadrajet with a manual choke I am going to rebuild. I also have an Edelbrock 1406 with electronic choke which is practically new.
Considering selling the Edelbrock, had it for my early bronco that I sold, never ran it. If I sell this, I am going to buy a new qjet from national carbs to replace it. I am running a relatively stock 350 on my 71 gmc 1/2 ton 4wd. Will be used for around town driving, mild 4x4 trail stuff for camping. Decent reasoning on this? |

Re: quadrajet rebuild and edelbrock carb, reasoning???
I had a seasoned old school guy rebuild my Q-jet and it never worked right. Even he who rebuilt them for more than 50 years could not figure it out. He replaced it with an Edelbrock and I have been rolling ever since. No adjustments. Just put it on and I drove off. I am sure there are others who have had great service out of the Q-Jets, but I am never looking back.
