Re: Disassemble ford rack and pinion?
I feel like the risk vs. reward is too heavy to even bother doing this. taking it apart and hoping nothing brakes, or having high pressure seals fail is a likely thing. prep it really well, mask it off, and buy a really nice paint like Eastwood and just spraybomb it. powder coating a rack doesnt give more value to the vehicle and the only time its going to get an opportunity to scratch is probably at speed, down a road. which powdercoat wont hold up to anyways. just my 2 cents.

Re: Disassemble ford rack and pinion?
I would recommend paint as well. If powdercoat is a must maybe call a company that rebuilds them (unisteer) and see if they can disassemble and reassemble for you. That would be the safest bet.
