Mr gasket fuel pressure regulator 9710

Hey guys I have a edelbrock 500 cfm. My mechanical fuel pump is pumping to much has so I was told To buy a regulator so I did. the thing leaks like a stuck pig. I thought mr gasket stuff was ok quality. So do you guys know of any regulators that are pretty decent

Money gets you what you want here. I spent over $300 on regulators till I found one that worked right some just leaked no matter what like you said and others would have the pressure adjusted to about 6.5lbs and I would make a pass down the track and it would jump to 9lbs then settle at 3lbs coming back to the pits and would hav to be re adjusted otherwise it starved down the track. http://m.summitracing.com/parts/qft-30-1900

Of coarse the better way would get a stock fuel pump for $20 and feed your 500cfm like that

What's the psi on a stock? The one I have now is like 9 psi was told my edelbrock needs no more than 6 psi

Stock one should put out about 5-7lbs which is the range for needle seats to hold.

I use this Carter fuel pump on my truck with an Edelbrock 1406 and it puts out a steady 5 psi http://www.summitracing.com/parts/crt-m4685 Been on there for 3 years now and still works great. I know it say's 5.5 to 6.5 but mine has never gone above 6 psi on my pressure gauge.
