New To Forum and 69 C-10
Hello All,
I'm new to the site and I just bought a 69 short bed step side. First time I've ever owned a C-10 (We had a 72 I6 three on the tree growing up in the 70's). I've owned over the years 10 60's Mustangs and still have a 69 Fastback. The truck has a 350 AT/PS/PB/AC, Heavy Duty suspension, 3.07 gears, split drive shaft and is a CST. I bought it from the original family in UT and had it shipped (Lost the passenger side mirror on the car carrier. It fell off and dented a Porsche below it!). It only has 82K original miles. I'm really impressed with how well it drives. The only weird thing is there is a noise only in the 35-40 mph coming from the middle of the cab that I can't figure out. Plans are to keep it fairly stock with the following exceptions: - Rally rims (I've been reading up on this and looking for the best solution) - Disc brakes - Over drive AT (Since this will be a daily driver. I'm super happy it has 3.07 gears since so far I'm getting 16mpg) I have a million questions, but for now, here are some pictures: Delivered! Bugs collected from acrossing this great nation. Washed Note the black GMC in the background that is being replaced. First 350 I've ever owned. Pheasant was put there by the original owner who has passed. Might keep it as a tribute to him. Nice bed

Very nice. Looks like a pretty nicely equipped truck (ie. power brakes). A lot of the stepsides are not too well equipped.
That looks like a dealer installed AC unit. Does it work well?

Re: New To Forum and 69 C-10
Thanks everyone. Yea, I'm thinking I really lucked out in finding this one. Although it does have some issues in the inner cab corners, I will just patch those until it needs a repaint since welding will make too much heat. The 350 is a crate motor with only 1,500 on it, well when I got it, that is.
At the risk of getting the Bow Tie purists upset, here's an image of my other 69. The way I figure it, all of the big three made some pretty cool cars. Hell even AMC had the AMX, I've re-engineered the front suspension on it and put a rack and pinion steering in also. handles awesome.

The AC needs to be charged. Everything is there and works. The compressor clutch turns on and off as well as the blower. I'm not sure if I will tackle charging or finding why it leaked since we may be over the hot part of the summer here in NY.

That's funny. Your hot part of the summer is over, and we have another 6-8 weeks before it really breaks.

DGulliver,
Do you have any pictures of you truck that show your wheel/tires? What size are you running? It's hard to tell from the small picture but your truck looks like what I'm shooting for.
