Standard, deluxe? Couple interior questions for my 69

Hey guys,

My truck doesnt have the original seat cover, it does however have the metal door panels like these.

http://www.brotherstrucks.com/prodin...number=DPR6771

i notice that places like brothers also sell door panels that are specific to 1969. However they are made from vinyl and im not sure if they were ever ever used or they are just custom. http://www.brotherstrucks.com/prodin...number=FP26900

reason im asking is i was replacing some of the interior parts and it had the 'deluxe' mirror bracket...but the door panel is listed as 'standard'. It doesnt have factory pedal covers.

Were there standard and deluxe pieces in the same interiors or were they just standard or deluxe packages?

If its the latter Id say its likely standard with the door panels, but you never know.

i dont see anything in the code list here: http://outintheshop.com/options.html

Also on my glove box there are 3 holes towards the bottom for an emblem...how could i find which one went there?

thanks

In '69 your glovebox door could have a Custom or a CST emblem. Both of those came with the vinyl door panels you showed. You got what you got with C/10,Custom/10,and CST/10 and no options when it came to that stuff. You should have the trim around the windows and fancy dash knobs. My guess is your door panels aren't original to your truck. Do you have door jamb switches for the interior light? Base trucks didn't get that

I wouldn't use the mirror bracket as an indicator of anything. In '69, the rear view mirror was an option. Someone may have bought your truck to use to haul a camper, and left the mirror off. My truck didn't come with one. Somebody bought a glass stick on type, that I replaced myself with a factory type roof mounted mirror. So, you never know. Someone may have added the mirror later. Here are some pics of my '69 Custom 20 to shed some light on it for you

Notice the chevy logo on the stock door panel. That's a '69 thing

This was the correct seat cover for '69 Custom/CST's. The scroll pattern matched the door panels. The '69 interior is one of my favorites of all of these trucks. I'm not a huge fan of the woodgrain used from '70 - on.

custom/cst...so what would you refer to my truck as...a c10? looking at your sig it seems like cst/c10 might be interchangeable. My spid says 'custom group'

thanks for the reference picture mister b...i havent seen that wheel before....also is that the only correct dash bezel for a 69? i bought a NOS replacement but it just said for 67-72 trucks...it is not chrome painted around the edges

My wheel is a 67/68 Chevrolet truck wheel

Should be the correct dash bezel for my truck. It is a repop from Brothers, but it looks identical to the factory one that was in it (except I added a tach).

I'd imagine they had other options, but I'm not sure. Sometimes seeing what yours didn't have, helps as a process of elimination, if that's what you discover. My seat cover is not original

Your truck is a Custom. All 1/2 2wd trucks are C/10s,but as for how trim levels go,a C/10 is base trim,a Custom/10 is mid-level,and a CST/10 is top-of-the-line. These are what the fender badges say. A base level C/10 has steel door panels. Yours were changed. You still have the top retainer for the vinyl door panels. Your bezel should be chrome trimmed,as all 69-72s were.

Thank you for that info on the truck. The bezel just appears to have been painted over several times...maybe its chrome under there. This is good news for me because i really didn't care for the 'standard' door panels and seat cover

X2

Your door panels COULD be original, as the vinyl door panels were just vinyl covered steel panels like you already have. They would have had to had the vinyl pulled off and all the glue stripped off and then repainted. As Tim said, your truck would not have came with bare painted steel panels because you have the chrome retainers and vent windows.

You just need to order the correct the door panels and seat cover to be correct.

Interesting. Id bet thats what happened then. You all are very helpful..

so if i bought just the skin...it would just glue over the existing panel?

Yep,that's all you need. The complete panels they sell are over plastic, from what I hear,so you're better off. Not all '69s had the bowtie (or GMC) in the top center. Some where blank.Check and see what the vendor you use offers
