gone, gone, gone like a freight train...........

Sold the 68 this week. The good thing is, she's with her sister in New Orleans. I know Chris will show both of them the love they deserve. Oh well on to the next project!!

Man...it would be hard to let go of such a nice truck.

But hey, now you get to build another.

Congrats to the new owner.

Was this the intent all along or was it a number you couldn't pass up? No matter why, that fella got a VERY nice truck!

Re: gone, gone, gone like a freight train...........

Congrats on completing the deal!

Jeff didn't tell you the new owner had trailer issues and drove his green '68 from Horn Lake, Mississippi,... back to Louisiana.
(truck only had 62 miles on the build)

It will now be reunited, with Jeffs other build.
The red '85 stepside.

Get out and drive the truck this summer and have some fun!
It sucks not being able to hear!

LWB trucks rule, if you don't think so measure your SWB!
After talking to tech support at Air Lift I have found out that the kit I need is 60811. Per the measurements I gave them. Ride height of truck inside spring and inside diameter of springs.

So if I get my truck fixed up, will it grow a Hooter girl pit crew like yours did?

Super looking truck!

Congrats on the sale Jeff.

You can tell its a quality build when it only has 62 miles on it and it will make a haul like that.

Re: gone, gone, gone like a freight train...........

thanks guys, was not my intent to sell the green truck so quickly after the build, but the guy who bought my red stepside wanted it also. So i shot my mouyh off with a price and he said sold. I found a 66 impala wagon about 6 weeks ago and bought it. Pulled the 396 out (yes factory 325 hp 396 ac no power steering) and detailed engine bay and repainted engine, new water pump, radiator and fixing ac now. Ordered some Vintecs 20x8s and 10s, waiting on them now. Don't worry the emty garage bay will soon be filled with another C 10 project. .....Like today!

I drove the truck most of the 400 mile trip. After putting around 50 easy miles on it I dropped the hammer and it was never under 80 mph the rest of the really late night! The truck ran and handled great and will be a "nice day" driver for its new owner here in New Orleans.

So the new owner is one of your buddies, but not a member of the forum?

Here's a few bigger pics of the '66 wagon.
This is such a cool old original car, with great patina!

You would have to see the old engine bay pics, to realize how much work was done here.
Jeff's normal base/clear engine paint job has to be seen to believe.
Super nice.
CPP disc brakes and drop spindles were added along with a Wilwood M/C and adjustable prop. valve.

You build clean (& reliable) trucks. The guy that bought it has damn good taste. Hooter's claims their wings are world famous. They're famous for something better,IMO!!
