The beast made it!!!

After a hellacious bout in and out of the shop since February, my 72' just made a successful trip from Fort Lauderdale, FL to Atlanta, GA and back.

My first rebuilt engine comitted suicide (threw a rod) after driving it for 1 week so the shop made it right and dropped in a new GM crate motor (on their dime). Still had some electricial problems, etc. But all in all, it ran like the beast it is.

Still more work to come I'm sure, but I'm confident after it passed the road trip test, that it will be a lifelong friend of mine.

Will be moving up to Atlanta in September hauling furniture, wifey and all. Also already found some truck friends in East Altanta at Village Garage & Custom.. Psyched about it!

Congrats! Has to be a very nice feeling!

I have a GM crate motor in my '72 and would take the truck anywhere. Dependable, always starts right up, and drives very smooth at 70mph.
