Here is my ugly but cool as hell 67 GMC I just finished. I bought the truck as a long bed / short bed conversion project started by the previous owner then I finished it with a new motor, drivetrain, brakes, wheels & tires, and exhaust. It's a super solid old truck that's been here in middle TN it's whole life.

Since it's LWB conversion, did you have to match the blue on the bed?

That's a good looking truck just the way it is. Under the hood looks good also.

A combination of red and brown primer was used then a coat of the blue with a flattener. Then scuffed back down to match the old patina.

So you had someone match the existing blue on the front? (I'm asking because I am needing to do the exact same thing on my '68.)

The original blue paint code was mixed in a single stage paint with a flat clear added instead of gloss. Or you can use a base / clear with a matte finish instead of gloss.

That truck is awesome. The ONLY thing I would do to it is new hubcaps and replace the grill. I wouldn't touch anything else. Well maybe some air bags

Thanks for the comments guys. It's really a neat old truck that I've spent thousands of dollars on in the last couple of months. But as with the other trucks I've built, I enjoy getting them from the barn to the road more than owning any one truck. So after a few more miles and fixing a small oil leak around the side cover, I will list it for sale in the next couple of weeks.

Lou: The factory inline six truck only had a fan cover, and I think all V8 trucks had a fan shroud.
