Funny, sounds like he's sold stuff on Craigslist before and had to deal with all the numbskulls

" Factory AC was a rare option. In the 22 years owned, Seller has never seen another 67-72 Cheyenne with factory AC & none of the mechanics that have worked on this truck have either, but is same system as GM cars."

Maybe he didn't look hard enough.

That truck. Has been for sale on CL and eBay for at least three years. Maybe longer.

Any wonder why?? My first thought when starting to read was, "man, this guy is seriously reducing his market."

Re: Most thourough CL ad I've ever seen...and nice truck too

I think it'd be fun to deal one on one with the seller because he is asking a reasonable price for the truck, he's just a touch eccentric. If you could put up with him you could probably cut a decent deal on that truck. If just for the experience I'd be over to see him ( after jumping through his hoops of course) in a heart beat if I was in the area.

Re: Most thourough CL ad I've ever seen...and nice truck too

"Q. What happen to original motor?
A. Was worn out @ about 150K miles. Did not want to rebuild as quality is hard to control. Also, original motor required lead in gas, no longer sold. 46K miles on bought NEW from & installed by GM dealer, Goodwrench 350 motor. Runs on ANY type of gas. Original Rochester carburetor was rebuilt & installed on new motor. New modine radiator was installed @ time of motor replaced."

I'm surprised a seller that is that peculiar on originality and details took the original engine making the truck non-numbers matching. Without the original engine, it is just a fairly clean 200,000 mile LWB truck. I don't see a $6000 truck IMO.

Who knows, it could have a Corvette Option Ambulance engine in it, and he scrapped for a Hecho en Mexico crate engine! -lol

WOW - By the time I got done reading that (and I'm not really sure why I did just read all of that), I forgot what the guy was even selling.

Re: Most thourough CL ad I've ever seen...and nice truck too

Dude goes out of his way several times to point out the $9999.00 limit on cash...for a $6,000 truck? But I like it. Not the least bit ambiguous. I especially got a kick out of the last paragraph. That, and any time Santa Barbara (my first home) and George Harrison get mentioned in a car ad, I perk up.

Me too. A tad high, but if really as un-rusted as he says might be worth it.

Question Re: Most thourough CL ad I've ever seen...and nice truck too

The gauges don't work the gas tank needs new sender and he is wanting $6000.00!
Didn't want to rebuild the orignal motor,

I don't think so.
I live 20 miles from Greenville I could setup a veiw time if anyone is interested in it.

Get out and drive the truck this summer and have some fun!
It sucks not being able to hear!

LWB trucks rule, if you don't think so measure your SWB!
After talking to tech support at Air Lift I have found out that the kit I need is 60811. Per the measurements I gave them. Ride height of truck inside spring and inside diameter of springs.

I couldn't resist sending him an e-mail...

My favorite part:
Quote:
Q. Front end condition?
Fully rebuilt including steering box, front coil springs & shocks. Seller has full page paper list of parts, that few have ever heard of prior.
He used stuff in the front end I've never heard of! Wonder what mystical parts he added?

Who cares what the ad says? The truck's condition will speak for itself when looked at in person. If it has been on C/L for years that tells me it is not worth the asking price.
