Can you identify this?
On my '50 truck, I removed these 2 pieces last night form under my dash. I assume the 1st picture is the heater switch. As with most of the "rats nest" under dash wiring being cut, the 2 wires to this were cut also. It appears to be a switch with 3 or 4 speeds, and missing a knob.
Picture 2 was positioned in the wire going to the heater fan motor. This was clamped to the lower edge of the dash. No moving parts whatsoever. The threaded part is not turnable. The wires connected to it are the old cloth covered type. Anyone have a clue what this is?

Re: Can you identify this?
Would a resistor be required to step down the voltage from 12V to 6V? The electrics were converted to 12V b4 we purchased the truck. But, the cloth wires look original!
I know very little about these electrical parts. I did use some aligator clips last night and put this "whatever" in series with a 12V battery, expecting to see 6v on the other terminal, but still only saw 12V.
