"The Ghost" is back on the road
I have been working for weeks to get "The Ghost" back on the road again. My kids named it the first time I owned it. I have been doing lots of cleaning, detailed the engine, new brakes, shocks etc. It looks like original trucks are not the norm on this forum. I am really a purist and have numbers right Corvettes etc in the past, so I am little torn as to what my next steps will be. It has been lowered a little, Flowmaster exhaust, updated 350, newer rally wheels and I added the Moon tach on the steering column.

Re: "The Ghost" is back on the road
I like it!! I really like the style. Lowered, Rallys, and an updated engine that still looks right for the year of the truck. I would drive that thing every chance I got!

Re: "The Ghost" is back on the road
Here is why I tracked down "The Ghost" and bought it back. We have a vintage 1959 Shasta Airflyte trailer that needed a tow vehicle.

Re: "The Ghost" is back on the road
The ralley wheels are going to go. I found a set of stock 5.5 inch for the front and 8's for the rear and a new set of hubcaps. Trying to get the same look as the first time I owned it! Light on top was on with magnets.

Believe me, there are several of us here who value/prefer the stock look. You're not alone!

Re: "The Ghost" is back on the road
Great looking truck. I bet the family will love the roadtrips with it and the vintage trailer. Very cool set up.

Re: "The Ghost" is back on the road
Sold the Ghost in 2006. Took me the past year to locate it and buy it back. Yes, looking forward to pulling the trailer to our vintage camping events.

We also bought our 65 c10 to pull our 69 Shasta compact, keeping it all stock! No time to restore them yet..

Finally cleaned out the inside with the help of the girlfriend. Back two seats are in much better shape. In the shop waiting cleaning.

Re: "The Ghost" is back on the road
Original owners manual was in it the first time I owned it . This is an original that I picked up at a swap meet. AM radio works perfectly. Pieces of original jack instructions were still in place. I added a repo to the same spot. MOON tach was not std in 1966!!

Re: "The Ghost" is back on the road
P2 brake controller was also added for towing Miss Daisy. No extra holes were drilled in dash. Original front mat has one small hole in it, otherwise perfect condition. Rear mat was torn up and missing major parts first time I owned -- now completely gone. I guess I would consider the BURB a survivor and should just drive it and take care of it. Found original upholstery for the seats. Was thinking of just replacing the torn insert part. Talked to a restoration guy that tried it and you end up with lots of extra stitch holes. May just have the front seat redone.

Re: "The Ghost" is back on the road
That's a really nice burb! I'm not one to rebuild back to stock, but I can sure appreciate it when it's been done. Keep up the good work, and give us some pics of the trailer too!
