Took the 2k mile truck out today

I have had this truck for 1 1/2 years and only put 20 miles on it. Today I changed the oil and put just over 40 miles on it. It now has 2089 original miles on it.

I love this truck and am very jealous It's awesome to see that you aren't afraid to drive it, even if its just a little bit.

If it only has 2000+ miles on it, and you want to drive the gas out of the tank, the amount of driving you would have to do mileage wise wont matter much because it will still have such a low amount after anyway. I d say if you want to drive the gas out of it to replace it I say do it, or just take the time and effort out to drain the tank and use it in another vehicle as long as its still good enough then refill the truck tank and put stabylizer in it. BEAUTY truck man, its gotta be 1 in a million! Others may chime in on my opinion as well.

This is exactly what I was thinking.. Even if you put a few thousand more miles on it the truck will still have wicked low miles. I think it might do the truck some good to put a few miles on it any way. I know I'd have a hard time letting it sit. She is a beauty!

I know what I would do with it...

Porterbuilt... McGaughy's... Wilwood... Billet Specialties...

But I also think it's great you are going to preserve it.

Time capsule right there, Joe. I couldn't help myself, though - that bad boy would have WAYYY more than that if I had it for a year and a half!

Wow beautiful truck I wish I had one like that but in the metallic olive color. Also a 250, that's a good engine I have one in my 78' camaro.

I like it when people think that way. I'm usually looking for a old Chevy to buy and most of them are more aftermarket than original.

Glad to see you're driving it, although I'd like to see it used more. Otherwise, it reminds me of that kid that collects action figures, and refuses to take them out of the box lol.

Thanks Jerry, it's cool to drive, i enjoy showing it and explaining how its completely original, not restored. Most people can't believe it's original. I guess it's about time to fire it up and go for a spin around the neighborhood

Wow, she's a beauty!

Could you show us a pic, head on of the grill, so I can see how to paint my grill? Mine is a base model 1972.

A close up of the wheels and hub caps would be great too.

Just curious if it has plastic fan shroud. Only six cylinder trucks I've seen with those were automatics. ANOTHER NICE ONE!

Like others would love to see detail photos of interior and engine. I have a 71 with 90K, with the 307. Your truck is amazing!
