Re: gonna paint the top of my 67 white ,,
I really like the way the truck looks as-is. Adding the white to the cab might look good, but I'm a big fan of the black.
The chrome, I definitely wouldn't do, it doesn't tie into the black/white theme.

Re: gonna paint the top of my 67 white ,,
If you do it I'd strongly recommend using the correct 526 ivory that was used 67-68 for the two-tone trucks. Also remember the 67 used a small drip rail up and back scheme with body color windshield posts and door frames.

Yes to the white and the trim.
I love your painted grill. Great contrast.

Re: gonna paint the top of my 67 white ,,
You should do it. The white roof and lower trim completely transformed the look of my truck. All black is cool, but black and white with lower trim is just classy and sexy. Have a look at my build thread in my signature to see the difference.

Re: gonna paint the top of my 67 white ,,
I'd say do what YOU want. It's not a crime to not make it text book original. In the end its your truck and your happiest the way you want it. I'm a big fan of white roofs and the trim makes the 67/8 my favorite body style

I agree! That truck was originally green anyway, so its not like it is all original now. I'd build it like I wanted it.

Re: gonna paint the top of my 67 white ,,
I wouldn't paint it white.
Since you've lowered it, thinking about paint, etc... my thoughts... Paint the roof and grille area a deep metallic silver. Install the CST trim around the nose, tailgate/lights, and on the sides. Why put chrome on the side with painted bumpers and grille pieces? Yup, chrome bumpers, grille hoops, and headlight covers. You're welcome

I agree, except the about the silver. I'm not a fan of the silver on black. They made those in '68, and the silver just looks muted and doesn't pop off the black like white does. I agree on the chrome! IMO...

Re: gonna paint the top of my 67 white ,,
The white roof, with your grill and bumpers would look great. The trim is kind of subjective, as I think it would take the chrome bumpers to really complete that look. In the end, as long as you are pleased, what we say will be more a representation of what we want OUR trucks to look like.

I am 100% for sure gonna paint the top white ! and I am 100% for sure gonna put a oak wood bed floor in my truck , but the lower trim ? When you get ready to do your rear trim for the white, let me know, and I'll get correct spacing and distance from the window down for you. I have a '67 small window here that had the chrome trim on it, and I can measure it for you.

Re: gonna paint the top of my 67 white ,,
Yeah,we went through the same thing in '06...mean intentions and all. I have always loved your truck as one that resisted the temptation to "have it all" and just be what it always was. It stands out more than most trucks with high-end options or built with all the latest-greatest doo-dads with nary an original part left on it. What's more, you have an excellent example of the same year Camaro pony car,yet you have this 6-banger 3 on the tree with basic painted trim. And,even resisted the lowering thing till now. First of all,I'm not gonna tell you what to do with your truck no matter what. Second, you've had it quite a while. Many here have gone through a few trucks in the same amount of time. I know you can get bored and you've had 7 years to look at it and get other ideas. Some sell and start another and some just change things around on the same truck. When it's all said and done and many more years go by,you can still say you've had that truck x amount of years. For some it doesn't matter, there's no attachment. For others it's like a cowboy and his horse or a feller and his old huntin' dog...been through a lot together. The longer you own one,the more soul they have.

Re: gonna paint the top of my 67 white ,,
I hear ya tim , and yep no plans to ever sell this truck and not going to do a lot to it just like said above change it up a little , I like driving it a lot better lowered it looks good too so that's that on that LOL want to try the white top and Ive always wanted one with the oak wood floor so that's a gonna git done too ! but the white trim low option look will stay , and as said above ive drove it 7 years without doing much of anything ?? to it , so the change it up a little is just a thang that happens , and if I want to drive a hotrod I got my 67 Camaro this 67 is nice and calm with the 6 cyl ride down the road with one finger on the wheel and the AC blowing cold is kinda nice
